We present unparalleled Entertainment in Brooklyn, in a State of the Art Venue, with global appeal that lifts the spirit and creates lasting memories.
Barclays Center is a showcase for the world’s most thrilling entertainment and sports events right in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. Developed by Brooklyn-based real estate developer Forest City Ratner Companies and designed by the award-winning architectural firms AECOMM and SHoP Architects, Barclays Center serves as the state-of-the-art home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and boasts one of the most intimate seating configurations ever designed for a modern multi-purpose arena. Unparalleled sightlines for 17,732 welcome sports fans to the action and audiences of up to 19,000 can be accommodated for musical performances.
Only a few months into its inaugural year – begun with JAY Z’s eight consecutive sell-out shows and another two from Barbra Streisand – Barclays Center continues to roll out an upcoming schedule of big-name performers, highlighted by Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Beyonce, who are not only worthy of top billing on the arena oculus, but of the world’s foremost purveyors of cool in New York’s greatest borough.
And if the unparalleled lineup of entertainment icons isn’t enough, the arena’s 101 luxury suites, four bars/lounges, three clubs and the newest location of Jay-Z’s 40/40 CLUB & Restaurant by American Express all guarantee that an event at Barclays Center is destined to be a memorable one.
Standards run high in Brooklyn. Good thing, because Barclays Center continues to raise the bar.

Forest City Ratner Companies
One of the foremost urban real estate developers in the New York metropolitan area, Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC) is a subsidiary of the publicly traded, Cleveland-based Forest City Enterprises. FCRC and its founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bruce C. Ratner, maintain a strong commitment to developments that enhance local communities and encourage economic development.
Established in 1985 and based in Brooklyn, FCRC is committed to the long-term vitality and success of its projects. FCRC oversees the building of developments, and continues to own and manage them, just as it will with Atlantic Yards. As an owner and manager of the property, FCRC remains a community partner long after the construction phase.
In 1985, FCRC spearheaded the first new office construction in downtown Brooklyn in a quarter of a century – One Pierrepont Plaza, which opened in 1988. Since then, Mr. Ratner and FCRC have completed development of many significant mixed-use developments in the area, including MetroTech Center, the $1 billion, 6.4 million-square-foot high-technology office, academic and retail complex, which now hosts over 20,000 office jobs. These developments helped launch the transformation of downtown Brooklyn into New York City’s third central business district, and contributed to what is today considered “the Brooklyn renaissance.”
Other FCRC developments include retail projects such as Atlantic Center, a 400,000-square-foot shopping mall that opened in November 1996 and grew out of FCRC’s desire to bring major national retail outlets to a historically underserved part of the city. The Atlantic Terminal Office and Retail Complex, a 10-story, 350,000-square-foot office building constructed above a 4-story 470,000-square-foot retail shopping center, is located next door to Atlantic Center. The Bank of New York serves as the anchor tenant of the Atlantic Terminal Office Building, which provides offices for 1,500 employees. FCRC has also built hotels such as the Embassy Suites and Hilton Times Square in Manhattan. It built and continues to own the Queens Center Mall.
FCRC developed the new headquarters for The New York Times Company, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano in midtown Manhattan. FCRC is also developing Beekman Tower in lower Manhattan, a building that will include a public school, an ambulatory care center for the NYU Downtown Hospital and a residential tower. The building is designed by internationally acclaimed architect Frank Gehry. In Yonkers, FCRC is developing Ridge Hill, which will include residential units, retail establishments, a hotel and an entertainment complex.
FCRC Chairman and CEO Bruce Ratner is a firm believer in giving back to the city he loves and engages in philanthropic endeavors that promote a spirit of community and an improved quality of life. Mr. Ratner is a strong advocate for New York City’s park system, believing that our parks play a critical role in economic development and enhancing the urban environment. He is currently a board member of the City Parks Foundation, Weill Cornell Medical College, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has been a trustee of the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) since 1989 and chaired its board from 1992 until 2001.
Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Forest City Enterprises, owns and operates 30 properties in the New York metropolitan area.
Forest City Enterprises, Inc. is a $11.7 billion NYSE-listed national real estate company. The Company is principally engaged in the ownership, development, management and acquisition of commercial and residential real estate and land throughout the United States.
